Happy Tails

Alumni from Friends of the Homeless Animals, Inc. come in all shapes, colors, sizes and ages!

Malcolm (formerly Casper) says hello! He's the happiest of campers and joy of my life. A warm bed and good food--and he is like a whole new man.
Just wanted to give you a brief update and thank you. We are all so happy with Sassy - we love her so much! She is a sweet, gentle, yet playful dog - a perfect fit here. She has accepted everyone here and is very affectionate. We renamed her Caramel to fit her color and sweet-as-candy personality. She's adorable and has adjusted marvelously.

Thank you again for your effort and cooperation to make this happen. She's really wonderful.

We can't thank you each enough for the parts that you played in her life. Bless you!
We've had Rosie aka Rosalina aka Tulip for a year. Just wanted to send you a quick update. She's adapted to our family perfectly. In fact we barely remember life without her. She's brought our family so much joy in the last year. We have one of the few fenced yards in the neighborhood, hence so many canine friends stop over to visit her. I have attached a photo of her two favorite: Suki and Samson. So this email, is basically an expression of gratitude. When my kids are older I hope to match dogs to families as successfully as you. Thank you for your selfless work. All the best. Thanks for picking us.
Candy Cane is happy as a lark already =) We honestly can't believe how well behaved she is. Completely housetrained, does not bark or beg! Thanks for taking such good care of her at the rescue. We really lucked out with her =)
I don't think we could've ended up with a better dog. Ladybug is the most lovable and friendly dog I may have ever seen. She rules my lab. She's the dominant one. She's very playful. My lab is starting to play back with her finally. We couldn't be happier with her
She's amazing. It's been much easier than I thought and she's pretty much house trained at this point.

Did You Know?

Each year, more than 12,000,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens are left at animal shelters around the country. Some are lost, some are abandoned, some are unwanted, most are the result of irresponsible pet ownership. Sadly, nearly8,000,000 of those animals have to be euthanatized because there aren't enough homes for them all.

Facts:
In six short years, one female dog and its offspring can be the source of 67,000 puppies.

Every day in the United States, more than 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. When this number is compared to the 10,000 human births each day, it's clear that there can never be enough homes for all these pets. But don't look at it as just a problem of numbers--every single pet is an individual life.

Maybe You Missed Me? Dog of the Week **SPECIAL UPDATE**

Congratulations to Seamus the Pug featured here in early June- he has since found his forever home! Good luck Seamus and his new family we look forward to updates in the future!

Maybe You Missed Me? Dog of the Week

Justice

Adoption donation $200 - Located in NH
Age: 3 years old - Weight: 40 pounds

Justice is a very fun loving dog! He loves to play, and plays hard... nothing is better than running around the yard at top speed! He loves his toys and will bring them to you when he wants to play. Justice is one dog who is not motivated by food or treat. He wants to please and be loved. I can tell he is constantly looking for that special person to call his own.

Some of his dislikes: school buses (he barks!), cats (he chases them!), small dogs (he does not get along well with smaller dogs). Justice is very protective and I can tell he would be very loyal to his family. He needs a large yard to be able to run for excercise. He is a high energy dog for a high energy household.

Justice does know most of his commands, but sometimes (like a youngster!) does not obey. He is easy to work with though, as I have taught him new commands. I would recommend obedience school for Justice. It appears as though the people who handled him before did not handle him correctly and he needs to build more trust with people not to lock him in a garage, or outside, etc. With a loving family and obedience school, I know Justice will flourish into a loyal, loving, trusting family member!
